RaDaR data

The RaDaR research team welcomes contact from renal clinicians and other researchers who would like to include analyses of RaDaR data in their research and/or collaborate with the RaDaR on grant applications.

We accept applications from employees of academic, clinical and commercial organisations, but we do not release any patient level RaDaR data outside the UK Kidney Association. All calculations of data completeness and statistical analyses are conducted by substantive employees of the UK Kidney Association who then share the information with successful applicants.

Applying for RaDaR data analyses

Data held within the RaDaR database are not permitted to leave the UK Kidney Association's servers - researchers wishing to use RaDaR data must apply to the RaDaR team who will analyse the data on your behalf and share the results with you.

We offer two types of analysis:

  1. Restricted data analysis (e.g. queries on data completeness/quality basic statistical analyses up to a maximum of 2 tables or figures, or 1 of each).
  2. Full data analysis (e.g. statistical analyses >2 tables or figures, support for grant applications and quotes)

Restricted analysis

To request a restricted analysis, complete the application form and return it to radar@ukkidney.org

You will receive a response within two weeks. If your request is approved, we aim to provide the analysis within two weeks of approval.

Full analysis

To request a full analysis:

  1. Submit an expression of interest (EoI), including approval from the relevant Rare Disease Group lead, to radar@ukkidney.org.
  2. The EoI will be reviewed by our Data Analysis Group and you will be notified of the outcome within two weeks.
  3. If your EoI is approved you will be invited to submit a full application form for assessment at the next available RaDaR Data Analysis Group meeting. Applications need to be received at least four weeks in advance of a meeting. If an application is received any closer than four weeks in advance it may not be assessed until the following meeting.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application and provided with any feedback within two weeks of the meeting.
  5. If your application is approved, we will invite you to a meeting to discuss next steps and timelines.

Contact us if you have any queries.
